SCORE project

On the 1 st of February 2007, FP6 project – SCORE began . Beside Information Societz SCG and Belgrade Open School from Serbia, this project gathers partners from FYR Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina as well as Greece, Belgium and Austria.

This project will last for two years and its mail objectives are to:

  • Develop an ICT Strategic Research Agenda will define the WB region's ICT research priorities
  • Following broad consultation with ICT stakeholder communities (e.g. national RTD policy makers, research actors, ICT companies)
  • Develop a Policy Paper with “ Recommendations for shaping EU scientific co-operation with the Western Balkan Region in the field of ICT research: 2007-2013
  • Transfer EU research results and technologies in the identified ICT research priorities
  • Facilitate the development of networks
    • Within the Western Balkan region, and
    • Between the WB region and the EU

 

Key results of SCORE are:

  • 4 national ICT Strategic Research Agendas, defining future ICT research priorities:
    • Albania,
    • Bosnia-Herzegovina,
    • FYR Macedonia
    • Serbia
  1. Policy Paper with recommendations for EU ICT research directions in the region
  2. 1 thematic workshop (per country) for the transfer of know-how on ICT research areas identified
  3. Organisation of an EU-Western Balkan Regional Conference, with participation of EU, Western Balkan and other neighboring countries' (Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Turkey) RTD ICT policy makers in order to consolidate the Strategic Research Agendas and Policy Paper.

 

SCORE distinguishes 2 types of ICT stakeholders:

  • DIRECT ICT stakeholders:
    • National ICT research policy-makers (ministry representatives, specific ICT policy working groups, regulatory authorities etc.)
    • Research actors / organisations (academic, not-for-profit, private)
    • ICT companies (software companies, telecom operators, internet providers)
    • NGOs for ICT promotion
    • Related national / international projects
  • INDIRECT ICT stakeholders (ICT beneficiaries/ user communities)
    • Business community representatives e.g. chambers of commerce
    • Broad public administration (e.g. other ministries)
    • Civil society (e.g. online communities, surveys through websites of ministries etc.)
