IS DOS 2008: October 6th and 7th, Master Center, Novi Sad
12th e- Government conference will take place on October 6th and 7th on the exceptional location of Master Centre in Novi Sad.
As a result of recognizing the need for cooperation of experts from the area of design and implementation of information system of the Republic of Serbia (IS DOS) and their users, first IS DOS conference was organized in 1997. As e-Government concept has evolved the conference has been covering more aspects in this area as well. But the basic idea of bringing together IT specialist from governmental bodies and local governments remains the core idea of this conference. Over the last 12 years about 2000 experts from the governmental bodies, public administration and local government have participated in the conference, as well as managers and experts representing companies which are developing and implementing e-Government systems in telecommunication, research and education sectors.
This year’s e-Government conference has the purpose of presenting technologies and solutions which can contribute to faster development of electronic administration and network infrastructure in Serbia by means of presenting companies, implemented and ongoing projects in the public sectors as well as different trends in e-Government sectors. During the conference which will last for two days the participants will have the opportunity to see presentations, take part in constructive debates but also have their questions answered by top specialists in their professions. Traditional conference activities are a great opportunity for social networking possibilities in the process of further e-Government development.
This year’s conference will focus on 4 ICT subjects in public services which will be organized in 4 mini sessions (tracks):
- ISDOS – Republic of Serbia state information systems
- e-Health
- e-Justice
- e-Local government – information systems and communication
Session: IS DOS – State Government information Systems
Within this track implemented information systems and network infrastructure of public administration will be presented and we will also discuss future needs of this sector. Leading companies involved in software development and system integration will present their e- Government solutions regarding: data protection, digital signature, e- Procurement, computer networks, e- tax solutions, GIS etc.
Session : e-Health
Within this track subject of greatest interest in the area of e -Health will be discussed: implementation of electronic medical record, hospital information systems, mobility, telemedicine, privacy, security and legal aspects of privacy protection. As medical interaction does not take place in one area, which was the case in the past, the common goal is to provide medical care where it is needed, for which it is necessary to define a set of rules for privacy protection but at the same time these rules need to allow access to needed medical records.
Session : e-Justice
E-Justice track will present the latest implemented solutions in this area, as well as initiatives on executive, legislative and judicial level. Presentations of new solutions in software and communication areas, which are being used in district and commercial courts, will be presented, along with initiatives supported by international programs.
Sesija: e-Local government
Local government information systems represent one of the key programs which affect the communication efficiency between citizens and local government. Submitting documents and applications online, status update of the submitted request and efficient local government call centers are only one segment of needs which need to be supported by these systems. There are several technological platforms which have implemented these solutions. Selected ones will be presented by their representatives.
